Born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland, Akiva’ Rooks is a Senior, Journalism Mass Communication student, working towards her Bachelor of Science degree. With no easy avenue, Akiva’ is a first-generation college student that fell into faith to pursue an out-of-state college career.
Passionate and resilient, she has worked ambitiously and rigorously to balance a full-time school and work schedule, while actively being involved in on-campus affairs. As Miss of a hometown org on campus, “Charm City Aggies”, she has found that her love for serving the community has been instrumental in finding her purpose and passion in life. Her self-entitled brand “I’ll Keep Her” has been the fuel to precipitate her desire to explore other avenues of passion filled career ventures. This women targeted non-profit focuses on self-care, self-love, and self-awareness.
She encourages the significance of inner and outer alignment through nourishment and spirituality. With this foundation closely aligning to her personal life, she continues to enable this vision to allow her to reveal and exercise her numerous talents embedded. Illustrating, with her personality name “Akiva’ K”, she owns her ability to authentically deliver alluring and engaging interviews to captivate this social generations audience. Furthermore, Akiva’ has fostered public opinion with a purpose, for notable clients such as first female district attorney, Avery Michelle Crump.
Each experience has granted Akiva’ with a vision professionally and personally. Collectively, she’s presented a media visionary who serves as a platform for women who are working hard to prosper mentally, emotionally, physically and financially.
